At the present, the Islam religion is one of the fastest growing religions. In the United States, there are 1 1/2 million members of the church of Christ, and 4 1/2 million Muslims. The Muslim religion is funded by the rich oil deposits of the Middle East and it cannot be ignored any longer. Mosques have been erected in every major city in this country. If the religion continues to grow as it now is, and if you do not know someone who is a Muslim, chances are good that you will!
Islam is spreading among all races in the United States. Why should I not become a Muslim? Why should my friends not become Muslims? What are the errors of the Islam religion? What are the differences between it and Christianity?
Both religions teach that Jesus was a prophet. Muslims deny that Jesus was God in the flesh, and Jesus says we must confess it. This is one of several major differences. Islam finds it to be almost blasphemy to believe that God could enter flesh and become both the Son of God and the son of man. In their daily prayers, they say that God has no partners. When we mention Jesus, they hear “partners,” and reject him.
Islam teaches that Jesus was a prophet, but that Mohammed was the greatest prophet. What Mohammed said 600 years after Jesus walked this earth, is the opposite of what Jesus said. Both cannot be prophets of God!
The truth of the words of Jesus are based on the miracles he did. Mohammed offered no proof. The resurrection of Jesus proves he is the Son of God, but Mohammed is still in the grave. In a debate with brother Jack Evans, the Muslim pointed out how they had a beautiful shrine of Mohammed in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. This opened the door for brother Evans to point out that the Jesus we serve – lives!
Not only does he live, he has promised to come again. This will be a sad time for those who did not accept Jesus for who he is. He claimed to be more than a prophet. He claimed to be the Son of God. Jesus said, “For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24). He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
